Montréal is easily accessible by land, and air transportation. Here’s everything you need to know before committing to your travel option.

Air Travel:

Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Quebec

Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport or Montréal–Trudeau, (formerly known as Montréal–Dorval International Airport) is located on the Island of Montreal, and is 18 km (20-30 minutes) from Le Centre Sheraton Montréal Hotel.

Car Travel:

Coming to Montréal by car is made easier by the various highways and bridges leading right into the city centre. Did you know that Montréal is an island and it’s just 75 kilometers (46 miles) from the U.S. Border and right on the Trans-Canada Highway? Depending on your point of origin, you may take one of the major bridges, Champlain, Jacques-Cartier or Victoria, or the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine bridge-tunnel to head downtown.

To knows’:

  1. Montréal uses the metric system, so speeds are indicated in kilometers (100 km/h = 62 mph)
  2. Gas is sold in liters (3 3/4 liters = 1 US gallon).
  3. You can’t turn right on red in Montréal
  4. You can’t use a hand-held cell phone while driving

Bus Travel:

Rail Travel (within Canada):

VIA Rail Canada has 19 trains routes across Canada, with the option of directly arriving and departing in Montréal’s Central Station. Travel worry-free in unparalleled comfort and stay connected with free Wi-Fi. Montréal’s Central Station is located 3-minutes from Le Centre Sheraton Montréal Hotel.

Online Booking Tip:

  1. You have to log in to your profile or create one prior to booking. On the Passenger information screen, select “Convention fare” from the “Discount Type” drop-down menu, and enter the discount code for your convention or event in the “Discount code” field. This code has been given to you by the conference organizer. The conference fare will be shown on the next page.
  2. Fare applies to a maximum of two passengers per booking. One complimentary stopover is allowed at no additional charge. For travel on all fare plans in Business class, the first stopover is allowed at no additional charge, provided that this stopover takes place in Toronto, Montréal or Ottawa only.
